A DAY IN THE FIELD

Isle of Man Federation Field Day to be held 27th August 2006 at Ballaleece Farm, Peel. This event is open to all members of the public.

There will be a nature treasure hunt between 2pm and 4pm, open to all.

Sports/Comps start at 2pm. Craft/Confectionery items can be entered at 1.30pm. Craft/Confectionery program to follow. See below:-


Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting 1. Spot the Fault - Safety and efficiency competition, spot 10 faults on 2 pieces of agricultural machinery, open to members and public 2-4pm

2.Landrover & Cattle Trailer Driving – teams of 2 to drive forwards and backwards through an obstacle course, open to members and public 2-4pm

3. Ladies Tug o War – 1 team of 8 ladies per club, to take place at 3pm, other teams welcome

4. Mens Tug o War – 1 team of 8 men per club, to take place at 3.30pm, other teams welcome..

5. Fence erecting – teams starting at 2pm, staggered, YFC clubs only

6. ATV Challenge - open to members and public 2-4pm

7. Dairy Stock Judging & Evaluation - open to members and public 2-4pm

8. Sheep Stock Judging & Evaluation - open to members and public 2-4pm

9. Beef Stockjudging & Evaluation - open to members and public 2-4pm

10. Horse Stock Judging - open to members and public 2-4pm

11. Chicken Judging - open to members and public 2-4pm

12. Club Display – as many entries per club, clubs to organize own display area, entries in by 2pm

13. Flower Arranging Button Hole – Corsage for James Bond’s lady friend, Display 60cm x 60cm, entries in by 2pm

14. Flower Arranging Table – Table arrangement for a romantic meal, Display 75cm x 60cm, entries in by 2pm

15. Welly Wanging- Wellies will be provided, open to members and public 2-4pm

16. Egg Throwing - open to members and public, starting 2.30pm

17. Limbo Dancing - open to members and public 2-4pm

18. Sing a Bond theme tune – Upto 5 people in a team, not to be mimed, entrants to bring own music, starting at 4pm

19. Obstacle Course – Dressed in a “Bond” theme, team of 6:- 2 juniors, 2 intermediates, 2 seniors, - at least 1 of each sex, starting at 2pm

20. Scarecrow Making Competition – Competitors are required to dress the additional member of the team as a scarecrow, 15 mins allowed, starting at 2.45pm

21. Buzzer – To get the ring around the course in time allowed, open to members and public 2-4pm
