'Electric' talk for young farmers

Article from IOM Online - November 2007

A TALK about how to avoid dangers from electrical services was hosted by the Federation of Young Farmers on Monday.

Ian Horsey and Karen Ennett of the Manx Electricity Authority visited Knockaloe Lecture Room to present an informative and eye-opening talk to young farmers and interested farming individuals.

The presentation focused on the dangers individuals could face with overhead and underground electricity cables while working in the agriculture world.

It was also made clear that any farmer who would like to know where underground cables are situated and the heights of overhand cables on their land can take advantage of a free survey by contacting the MEA.

Chairman Lucy Webster thanked Ian and Karen for the talk.
